Democratics

We have spent a lot of time on the GOP party. Take 15mins and research the democrats on the Internet and what they are doing to get ready for the election and whomever they may face from the GOP. Research anywhere and then provide a paragraph summarizing what you found in the class blog.

  1. Mitt Romney heads in to Illinois's presidential primary this week with a handy win in Puerto Rico, pocketing the territory's 20 GOP delegates in a bruising race that has become a numbers game for the Republican nomination.

  2. At present time the campaign of president Obama is to watch the the Republican candidates slander each other while he comes out on top. Yet he is still going to numerous univerites, towns and businesses to speak. They claim this is part of the presidents job description. Although this has increased dramaticly in the last 3 months. So yes president Obama is campaigning. The presidents campaign has supposedly raised around 127 million dollars for his re-election.

  3. More recently, democracy is criticised for not offering enough political stability. As governments are frequently elected on and off there tends to be frequent changes in the policies of democratic countries both domestically and internationally. Even if a political party maintains power, vociferous, headline grabbing protests and harsh criticism from the mass media are often enough to force sudden, unexpected political change. Frequent policy changes with regard to business and immigration are likely to deter investment and so hinder economic growth. For this reason, many people have put forward the idea that democracy is undesirable for a developing country in which economic growth and the reduction of poverty are top priority.

  5. Romney wins in Puerto Rico picked up all of Puerto Rico's 20 delegates because he got more than 50 percent of the vote. Romney now has 521 delegates. While Romney won he is still focused on winning in Illinois.

  13. Democrats pounced on that image of a hearing discussing contraceptive rights being dominated by men while the one person Democrats had asked to appear on the witness stand, a woman, was turned away. Pelosi, D-Calif., said they had since heard from 300,000 people urging that women's voices be heard on the issue.

  18. Kayla Palmer:
Democrats on Wednesday were celebrating a string of election victories that saw the conservative agenda being rolled back across the country – and that offered a glimmer of hope that Barack Obama might be re-elected to the White House next year.

  23. Democrats are preparing their own version of the politics of personal destruction against former Massachusetts Gov. Romney, the man they remain convinced will be the GOP nominee.
While studying the flow of ads and campaigning in Florida, top Democratic strategists think Romney has left himself vulnerable not so much on issues, such as health care, but on the question of who he is as a person and a campaigner.
They are hoping that Gingrich will carry his campaign forward at least through Super Tuesday.

  24. President Obama is still working but staying clear of the fighting between the nominees by performing his dutuies of speaking to towns and businesses. He is the democratic nominee and has so far raised over 127 million dollars for the this next 2012 election.

  25. Obama's own campaign machinations have largely skated under the radar, allowing him to appear to be the adult in the room as the Republican candidates fight over contraception, illegal immigration, the minimum wage and each others' pasts.

In the process, Obama's favorability among key voting blocs such as women and Latinos has jumped significantly. And most important, recent surveys suggest the president has rebounded among independent voters, a swath of the electorate that catapulted him to victory four years ago but had abandoned him during his presidency.

  26. I think Obama will be elected again as president. He has the highest standings for any presidential nominee at this moment. He is a good president and Mitt Romney is showing promise but isn't showing enough promise to catch up. I think Obama has the election down and I believe he would be a good second term president.
