I think the house bill 1021 is interesting because it revises the rights of victims of crimes. The house bill 1025 is interesting because it makes aggravated incest a violent crime for purposes of setting an initial parole date. House bill 1066 is interesting to me because it allows the creamtion of deceased persons who are indigent and and whose funerals are responsible of the county.

ReplyDeleteSenate Bill 9- Makes an appropriation to reimburse certain family physicians and dentists who have complied with the requirements of the physician tuition reimbursement program and dental tuition reimbursement program and to declare an emergency. I find this interesting because I want to go into family medicine, and knowing that some of my tuition could be reimbursed is quite nice.
ReplyDeleteSenate Bill 114- Designates the American Buffalo as the state animal. I think American Buffalo are an awful lot cooler than the ring-necked pheasant.
Senate Bill 121- Expands Medicaid eligibility for pregnant women and to make an appropriation therefore. I think that having medical insurance is extremely important, and all women who are pregnant are in need of it. Passing this could also decrease the amount of infant fatality in our state.
Senate Bill 105 because it is supposed to expand South Dakota education.

ReplyDeleteSB 137 revise certain provisions concerning the application for absentee voting.--Many will just go to use the absentee so they don't have to vote. Putting more requirements will lower that.
ReplyDeleteHB 1110 establish an education funding goal for elementary and secondary education in South Dakota. ---education is important. It will help kids get the education they need. More money more things.
SB 130 require the school board of each school district to adopt a policy prohibiting bullying. --Our school has already done that. Many need to do that so they lower or become aware of it in their schools.

I am a fan of House Bill 1197, this bill wants to exempt making patients pay for an emergenciy medical air lift. Although they want to use taxes to pay for this, it may be a benifical idea. Many people can not afford an air lift let alone medical bills. This saves lives and takes finacial burdens off of the sick.

I think its sad how much extra people are making you pay. YOu are already going through a rough time with a loss in the family or of a friend, they dont need to go in debt over it.

-revise the circumstances under which motor vehicle headlamps must be dimmed.
I also feel that this is a good law because there are people out there that already dont have good headlights and when you pass someone or have someone following you and blinding you it can effect your our driving which could easily cause an accident.

SB 108 revise the maximum bet limit for Deadwood gaming. This is a not needed bill i think. Let people do what they want with their money.

HB 1138-is is for any person who maintains or provides roll-your-own cigarette machines at retail establishments declare cigarette manufacturers. This is good because hopefully this law will reduce the number of cigarette producers and also users.

SB 49-revises the property tax levies for the general fund of a school district. This would help our schools in get more funding.
I like Bill HB 1138 because I work next to a store that lets you roll your own cigaretts and it smells areful, also it starts on fire sometimes.

HB 1188 is, again, a good idea but there should be certain exceptions like if a parent has to move for work.
i woud say house bill 1001 because this is talking about how taxes need to be reduced and that it needs to be done soon.i like bill 1003 because this ties in with the taxes and that people are saying that they need to be reduced soon. house bill 1002 all of theses bills are talking about our taxes and that they are all too high and need to be lower.
